Tips
for Moving Houseplants
Are you moving to a new home? Here are a few
things you should know about moving your houseplants:
-
If you wish to move a plant to another
state, you should contact that state's department of
agriculture. They may have restrictions about bringing
plants into the state. These regulations were set in
place to prevent the introduction of insects and pests
that may spread to farm crops and destroy them.
-
Protect plants from heat, cold and
sunlight by wrapping them in kraft paper.
-
Place wrapped plants in cardboard
boxes. Leave the tops open. Stabilize the plants by
stuffing newsprint around them.
-
Place the plants in the backseat of a
car - never in the trunk of the car.
-
Unwrap and water the plants as soon as
possible when you get to your new home.
